What are Tamil Vowels?

The pronunciations are given in terms of English words that have similar sounds.
Apart from 12 vowels, we have an additional character ஃ (ak). This character is not a vowel, but we use it for our convenience and so we include it among the vowels. Vowels are further classified into short vowels (Kuril) and long vowels (Nedil).
